A well-mapped out strategy should be at the heart of L&D, but for every organisation it will look different. Barbara Thompson is Learning Innovation Consultant at PA consulting group and she will a speaker at this year’s World of Learning Conference.   In her presentation, A holistic approach for learning: something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue,  Barbara will examine how to ‘put the human context back into learning design’ as she shares examples of what to avoid and how to shift from bias to data-driven decisions.

Her colleague, Learning & Experience Design Consultant, Kenny Temowo has put together this great visual representation of an L&D strategy map, with, he admits, a focus on the design end. Kenny points out he created it a while ago and would probably change one or two things now  – in the spirit of ‘agile’, it’s his MVP – but we think it’s an interesting visual cue and wanted to share it with our audience.

What would your L&D strategy map look like? Would this year’s look different to last year’s?

If you’d like to explore the idea further, come to the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition in October to hear about learning strategy from L&D leaders from organisations like River Island, Dixons Carphone, E.ON UK and AstraZeneca.
